Maren Gilzer and her husband leave Berlin and move to the country.

The reason for this is very moving.

Schwebda – a village of 800 souls instead of a metropolis of three million: “Wheel of Fortune” letter fairy Maren Gilzer (64) and her husband Harry Kuhlmann swap their life in the capital Berlin for life in the country.

“It’s a mixture of melancholy and anticipation,” says Gilzer in an interview with “Gala TV.”

Arriving in front of her new home in Schwebda, Hesse, the 64-year-old enthuses: “It’s beautiful here.

Life is like being on vacation.” But the presenter didn’t move here to go on vacation.

But to take care of her mother.

Maren Gilzer's mother had a stroke

Gilzer's 84-year-old mother recently had a stroke, as did her husband Harry's mother.

“We were then faced with having to think about: What would happen to us now?” said the TV celebrity in an interview. “We quickly realized: Living alone is no longer possible.”

Gilzer's mother therefore moved to a retirement home in Hesse.

And Kuhlmann's parents also live nearby.

As a result of the move, both of them can now take better care of their parents.

For Maren Gilzer it’s a given: “I don’t feel like I have to give anything back.

It’s just part of being human,” she says.

Maren Gilzer and her lover have been married since 2019

Maren Gilzer became known in 1988 as the letter fairy on the Sat.1 game show “Wheel of Fortune”, where she appeared daily alongside Peter Bond and Frederic Meisner until 1998.

From 1998 to 2014, the now 64-year-old appeared in the weekly television series “In aller Friendship” on Erste.

In 2010 she married the media manager Egon F. Freiheit, with whom she had previously lived for 17 years.

The separation followed just three years later.

Gilzer has been married to Harry Kuhlmann, an entrepreneur, since 2019.

Many celebrities have long since found happiness in love: This man, for example, has been giving Barbara Schöneberger (50) strong support for years.
