Journalist Jean-Marie Borzeix, former director of France Culture between 1984 and 1997 and boss of Télérama between 1999 and 2000, died at the age of 82, the cultural magazine announced on Monday March 18.
Born in 1941, Jean-Marie Borzeix began his career as a journalist at
Combat
in 1968, then at
Quotidien de Paris
(1974-1975), before becoming literary director at Le Seuil.
Appointed director of France Culture in 1984, he is at the origin of the creation of several famous programs on public broadcasting such as
L'Histoire en direct

L'esprit public

de Bertrand Jérôme and Françoise Treussard, or
Le Pays d'ici
