Zendaya is currently starring in
Challengers
, the new film by Luca Guadagnino (
Call Me By Your Name
), which will be released on April 24 in France. A work that tells the story of a love triangle in the very competitive world of tennis. As such, the actress has been parading around the world for several weeks to promote it alongside her playing partners, Mike Faist and Josh O'Connor. In this marathon, which combines fashion and cinema, she has fun playing tennis women with signature looks that are always unexpected. We particularly remember her Loewe pumps with yellow ball-shaped heels, during a preview on April 8, in Rome.
This time, the leading actress of the series
Euphoria
wanted to pay tribute to two tennis icons, sisters Venus and Serena Williams. In photos shared on Friday April 19 by stylist Law Roach, we discover her in a huge white and black striped ball gown, reminiscent of the iconic look worn by Richard Williams' daughters on the cover of
Vogue
, in 1998. The creations of the latter were signed by the Carolina Herrera label, as specified by
Page Six
. In addition to the outfit, Zendaya wears in this new portrait the same hairstyle as the two sisters: white pearl braids. The staging is identical to the original.
In the caption of the publication, Law Roach showed his gratitude to the two sisters by writing: “An ode to the great @venuswilliams and @serenawilliams! We thank you for everything you have done! With love, Z (for Zendaya) and Law. Namely that the original photo had been captured by the high priestess of photography, Annie Leibovitz, inducted into the Academy of Fine Arts last March.
