Every year, the first Monday of May is THE meeting place for the world's elite: many celebrities gather at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) in New York for the Met Gala. Led by the prestigious Anna Wintour, this charity evening is the fashion event of the year: it brings together a list of exceptional, hand-picked guests, including the elite from the world of fashion, culture and music around a very particular theme.
This year, the Met Gala will take place on May 6, 2024 and will have the theme:
Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion
. And if tradition dictates that the
guest list
is never revealed in advance, the first names of the guests are already starting to emerge.
According to
Page Six
, some names are already well known from the famous Met marches, notably Rihanna - whose increasingly extravagant outfits generally make the front page of magazines the day after the event -, Uma Thurman, Sarah Paulson, Cara Delevingne and even Kendall Jenner. Zendaya and Jennifer Lopez, two Met Gala regulars, will this year be co-presidents of the event alongside rapper Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth, who will take his first steps on this very prestigious red carpet.
Gisele Bündchen, with or without her new companion?
Still according to information from
Page Six
, model Gisele Bündchen will be present at the event. Speculation is also rife as to whether she will be solo or accompanied by her companion since June 2023, Joaquim Valente, her Jiu-Jitsu instructor. The 43-year-old model used to attend the Met Gala with her ex-husband Tom Brady, from whom she split in 2022.
And tickets to these “Fashion Oscars” are expensive. If
golden tickets
are reserved for the elite, it is possible to attend the Met Gala for the “modest” sum of $50,000 and above all with the approval of fashion queen Anna Wintour. See you on May 6 to discover the full list of guests.
