Reducing the use of disposable tools on the beaches

Following on from last year, this year the municipality will also give special emphasis to actions to reduce disposable utensils on the beach, including information to the general public and beach users by virtue of an amendment to the municipal by-law that prohibits the introduction of disposable utensils and bags and plastic to bathing beaches. At this stage, the municipality will continue with information and warnings, and later enforcement will be carried out.

All municipal beaches comply with the "Blue Flag" environmental standard of the international organization FEE, which means that the city operates beaches at a high level and in accordance with the program's strict criteria. The purpose of the program is to promote the environmental management of bathing beaches and marinas and to enhance environmental awareness among beach users. Hazards on the beach can be reported to the 106+ service center or through the digital application.

The Tel Aviv-Jaffa Beaches app allows you to rent beach facilities easily and quickly at any of the city's 13 beaches. In the application you can pay for the use of the beach facilities: umbrella, beach chair and sun bed, get information about the beaches open for swimming, view the list of beaches closest to you and be updated on the state of the sea temperature and the height of the waves.
