Uprooted trees, torn roofs, damaged roads: this Sunday, the Cape Town region of South Africa was hit by extremely powerful winds, with gusts of up to 150 km/h.
A viaduct located on the N 1 has been the scene of several accidents. The trailer of a heavy goods vehicle was thrown to the bottom of the structure. A caravan suffered the same fate. The viaduct was temporarily closed to traffic to avoid further incidents.
