To try to answer this question, Le Parisien-Aujourd'hui in France used data from the Directorate of Evaluation, Foresight and Performance (DEPP) of the Ministry of National Education, which has since published last year, the “results indicators” of these establishments, based on the model of the analysis carried out for high schools each year.
What is a good college? “Delicate question,” recognizes the DEPP. Should we prioritize obtaining the certificate or value the fact of being able to complete all of one's education in the same college? » “The answer depends on the point of view from which we place ourselves”, notes Nada Chaar, teacher of history and sociology of education at the University of Paris 8. “From the point of view of public education policies, it is a college that contributes to providing equal opportunities for all its students, regardless of their social background, and while respecting their well-being. »
