Director Christopher Nolan and his wife, producer Emma Thomas, will receive the titles of sir and dame respectively. In fact, their names appear in the list of honors published by Rishi Sunak's British government, which refers to the motivation: for services rendered to the world of cinema. Nolan and Thomas, both originally from London, met when they were young students at University College in the British capital and married in 1997, thus deciding to start a family (they have four children) and move to Los Angeles for their work, where they currently live. The professional partnership was fundamental in their relationship, as Thomas produced all the films written and directed by her husband, including the 2023 blockbuster 'Oppenheimer' about the 'father' of the atomic bomb, which brought two Oscars to the family, the best film and director, and seven overall. It is not yet known when the official knighthood ceremony will be held: it usually takes place at Buckingham Palace by King Charles, who however, after his cancer diagnosis and the start of treatment, does not participate in public engagements in crowded places but limits himself to the institutional ones in the building with few people.
