There are a number of tips and tricks that can support your weight loss plan. Correct breathing should also play a role.

A healthy and balanced diet, enough exercise and little stress can help you lose a few extra kilos. But breathing correctly should also help you lose weight. The so-called “long breath diet” – a breathing technique from Japan that is also known as the “Japan trick” – supposedly stimulates digestion and stops cravings at the same time. It is important that you carry out the individual steps of the exercise precisely.

Each person takes an average of 23,000 breaths a day. Breathing can have various effects on our bodily functions and our emotions. Hectic, shallow breaths, for example, increase blood pressure and cardiac output. The result of this is often difficulty concentrating or headaches. Deep, conscious breathing, on the other hand, has a positive effect on the body by giving it regeneration breaks for cell repair and the rebuilding of energy reserves. The Japanese trick is intended to influence digestion and food utilization.

The long-breath method, which is said to have been invented by the Japanese actor Miki Ryosuke, helps to curb the appetite and optimally stimulate overall food utilization. By straightening the body during exercise, diaphragmatic breathing is used, which stimulates circulation and lowers blood pressure. At the same time, it shifts the organs in the abdomen slightly downwards. This in turn has a positive effect on the intestines. In addition, the targeted inhalation and exhalation should saturate the blood with oxygen, which breaks down the fat cells in the body into their components. In addition, carbon dioxide is exhaled and water is removed through metabolism. Since fatty acids are exhaled through the lungs, the fat ideally dissolves. The more oxygen the body uses, the more fat is burned.

Losing weight through breathing: The four steps of the long breath method

The advantage of the long-breath method – which should be repeated for two to five minutes – is that no additional sports equipment or previous knowledge is necessary. • 1st step

: For the basic position, stand upright in a slight lunge.

  • Step 2:

Tense your bottom and shift your weight to your back foot.

  • 3rd step

: Then breathe in deeply for three seconds and at the same time lift your arms above your head.

  • 4th step

: Then breathe out powerfully for seven seconds and tense your entire body muscles. At the same time, lower your arms halfway.

The combination of breathing and simultaneous tension of the entire body addresses different muscle groups. On the one hand, you train the deepest, lateral muscle of the front abdominal wall, the so-called transversus abdominis, and on the other hand, you use the entire body muscles. A noisy exhalation increases this effect. The internal organs also benefit from conscious and targeted breathing as well as from the upright body tension. However, beginners should start the exercise slowly, as exhaling heavily can cause dizziness. In addition, it has not yet been proven that the technique alone helps with weight loss. That's why you should also pay attention to a balanced diet and enough exercise. But coffee can also help with weight loss. It depends on when you drink it.
