A pathology which has already caused the flagship host of France 2 to lose half of his hearing. He thus reveals on a daily basis that he had an operation in 2019 without effect. Today, the host of A Sunday in the Country and Rendez-vous en terre stranger claims to no longer hear in his right ear.
Otosclerosis is a degenerative disease affecting the bone tissue of the inner ear. This can lead to total deafness.
“Vacuum cleaner noise constantly”
Already deprived of his hearing abilities in his right ear, Frédéric Lopez chose to wear a hearing aid in his left ear. Because the latter is also affected by pathology. “I have 50% of my faculties and tinnitus, comparable to the noise of a vacuum cleaner all the time
,”
says the host.
Otosclerosis which disrupts his professional life:

While many wear glasses without it being a problem,” adds the host. Difficulties he also faces in his private and personal life: “During a dinner, it’s isolating. I'm a little behind. But I'm fine with seeing other people having fun. »
Frédéric Lopez now wants to move forward and plans to learn sign language to prevent total deafness.
