Four years after the last album of unreleased songs (Dis)amore released in the middle of the pandemic, Perturbazione, the Piedmontese pop-rock band led by Tommaso Cerasuolo, return on March 22nd with the release La Buona Novella (live with Nada and Alessandro Raina ) for Iceberg/Warner Music Italia, a complete live, original and unreleased rereading of Faber's album of the same name released in 1970 and on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the singer-songwriter's death.

A tribute to the musical legacy of one of the most important Italian artists of all time.

The recording dates back to 2010, at the Civic Theater of Varallo Sesia (VC).

"Three years ago I experienced a period of saturation - says Cerasuolo - due to personal events. Nothing to do with the discomfort expressed by young artists, starting with Sangiovanni. I stand in solidarity with them: we need to find a balance between living in the moment and disappearing We are made of being and doing: if we are just doing we dry up, if we are just being someone will never know it out there."

An opportunity arose from that period of the band's hiatus: "Staying still, which is a privilege in these fast-paced times, gave us the opportunity to look behind us a bit and so this recording emerged from the past. 'we were forgotten, but we found a magic again, and so the idea of publishing it was born, even with all its imperfections."

The album is a milestone in the history of music and De André's discography.

"And it remains very relevant even 54 years later."

La Buona Novella, De André's fourth album inspired by the apocryphal Gospels, is considered his most successful concept album.

A revolutionary work, which embodies De André's anarchic, secular and earthly vision of the world, and the artist himself defined it as his best work, comparing Jesus, the protagonist of the album, to the greatest revolutionary in history.

"If we think about how the world turns and the weight that propaganda and mystification still have today... De André was interested in man in his essence. The difference between person and character. What was also done with God is dead, Jesus Christ Superstar. Perturbation are a comma in this whole discussion, but any classic when it is reinterpreted if it is done without sacralizing it and without awe, it creates a loop in time that allows that work to continue to live."

In 2010 the lineup was different from that of today, "there were Gigi Giancursi and Elena Diana, and it was nice to share it with them. What happened was, and it was surprising to find ourselves in this project", says the frontman again .

"A lot of time has passed and we are certainly not the same as we were then, as it should be. We must accept changes, even if sometimes this requires a long journey.

We are as calm as we are now: the path of recent years has led us towards literary references and other artistic worlds."

In 2014, as outsiders, they participated in the Sanremo Festival, with a surprising sixth place with Unica. "Fun experience.

Fabio Fazio had wanted it.

Then things between us blew up.

The song was very successful, but people struggled to match it to us.

Let's say that immediacy is not one of our best qualities, just as we are not particularly easy-going, but everyone has their strengths.

Sanremo, an entirely Italian anomaly that affects musicians even if they don't go there, made us realize this.

In the following years we tried again but without luck, now as a happy 50 year old I prefer to watch it from the sofa at home with my daughter.

It's like when you see a disaster movie: there's the end of the world, but also something good in between."

For now, Perturbazione are in no rush to release new music ("we made some, but we weren't happy" ), and the aim will be to bring La Buona Novella live again in the summer.
