Sea rescuers no longer want to go out for intervention following the trial of the “Breiz” trawler. The prosecutor requested a one-year suspended prison sentence for one of them during the trial.

“We are not going to risk our lives voluntarily only to, in the end, find ourselves judged like idiots…. in a court of law and destroy our lives and those of our families,” one rescuer said. The Cross (Regional Operational Surveillance and Rescue Center) cannot call on them, even in the event of an emergency.
