Bayern Munich boss Jan-Christian Dreesen praised Serge Gnabry after the 2-2 draw against Arsenal FC in the Champions League quarter-final first leg. The 28-year-old was substituted in the 70th minute after suffering a torn muscle fiber in his left back thigh.

The German midfielder had previously been out this season with a broken forearm, hip problems and illness. The 45-time national player actually wanted to fight for a place in Julian Nagelsmann's European Championship squad through good performances in the next few weeks. This project has now been stopped for the time being. Bayern boss Tuchel will be without two of his star players for the second leg of the semi-final against Arsenal on April 30th or May 1st, depending on the result of the second-leg tie. Bayern are currently top of the Bundesliga, four points clear of second-placed Borussia Monchengladbach. The Bavarian giants face Borussia Dortmund in the league on Sunday.
