Luis Rubiales' successor at the head of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has been indicted in a corruption case, Spanish justice said. Pedro Rocha, interim president of the RFEF, was informed of his indictment by the judge who is investigating this case, the Madrid Superior Court of Justice said.

The investigation concerns irregularities in contracts signed by the R FEF over the last five years. The lucrative contract concluded to relocate the Spanish Super Cup to Saudi Arabia is at the heart of the investigations. Seven people were arrested in March, including several officials of the Federation, who were subsequently dismissed. The elections for the presidency of the federation will be held on May 6, with R Cocha currently the only candidate in the race to become the next head of La Roja's national football federation.
