The defender also responded to the comments of his partner Ilkay Gündogan after the elimination. "I prefer to keep what I think to myself. I have codes and values that are best respected. This is killing us," said the Barcelonan defender after the match. "We had the match in hand. My fault is 50-50. If the referee doesn't blow the whistle, then nothing happens. If he reports obstruction, then obviously he should evict me. It's sad because we wanted to qualify and, as a fan, it hurts me even more."
