Two Palestinian men aged 21 and 30 were killed by Israeli settlers in Aqraba, south of Nablus, in the West Bank. The area has been tense in recent days after a 14-year-old Israeli boy was killed in what Tel Aviv called a "terrorist attack" settlers responded with attacks in numerous Palestinian communities, despite appeals from Israeli leaders not to take justice into their own hands.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that a violent clash occurred between Palestinian and Israeli civilians in Nablos, and that troops intervened to disperse the crowd. The IDF said its initial investigation established that the Palestinians killed were not hit by army fire. The Palestinian authorities announced the deaths in a statement quoted by the international media. They said that the men were killed in a clash between Israeli settlers and Palestinian civilians. The Israeli Defense Forces said the Palestinians were killed when Israeli settlers opened fire on a crowd of Palestinian civilians in the city of AqRaba. The Palestinians said that they were shot in the back of the head by settlers.
