Gabriel Attal has apparently changed his mind on the method used to reform unemployment insurance. He is now leaning towards another lever - reducing the duration of compensation for the unemployed.

If he recalls the three existing levers, it is ultimately the second option which seems to be preferred. The Prime Minister wants to work on the conditions of affiliation, rather than the length of time a worker must have worked to receive unemployment insurance, he said on BFMTV Thursday evening. He also urged the French to return to work on the occasion of his 100 days as Matignon, the Fifth Republic's Prime Minister. The reform of unemployment insurance from this year, with the aim of raising the employment rate, is the Prime Minister's aim, he told BFM TV on Thursday evening, the day after his 100th day at the office in the French capital. He said the Minister of Labor Catherine Vautrin would do it in the coming days, the coming weeks, so that we can make this reform.
