maps provide an insight into the latest developments in the war in Israel. Since the terrorist attacks by the radical Islamic Hamas on October 7, 2023, the decades-long conflict between Israel and the Gaza Strip has escalated.

Southern Gaza and the city of Rafah require special attention as the ground offensive in northern Gaza sent hundreds of thousands of Palestinians fleeing to safety in the south. We mark as ground offensive all areas in which the Israeli army is or has been militarily active according to the Institute of the Study of War (ISW) and the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). In the maps, we deliberately distinguish areas in Gaza Strip from this category of ground offensive since the beginning of the war. We also mark the Besor River, which was long considered the southern end of an evacuation area. However, it became apparent that Israel's military had also taken control of large areas beyond the river in the South. We take into account the tens of thousands. of injured and dead Palestinians living in Gaza. and the fallen soldiers of the IsraeliArmy in our reporting on the war in the Middle East.
