“Around sixty houses” on the island of Yeu, in Vendée, were damaged by a windy phenomenon. The department is placed this Thursday, like five others on the west coast, on orange alert due to violent winds linked to the Nelson atmospheric depression.
“It happened in a fraction of a second, a deafening noise and a wind of unprecedented violence,” says one resident. A field investigation will help determine whether a tornado has indeed passed through the scene.
