Schools have been closed in the Emirates and are expected to remain closed on Wednesday, as further heavy rain is expected. The Dubai government also extended teleworking for its employees until Wednesday. The semi-final of the Asian Champions League between the Emirati club Al-Ain and the Saudi club Al Hilal, which was to take place on Tuesday, has been postponed by 24 hours. The airport confirmed the cessation of arriving flights at 7:26 p.m. local time before announcing a "gradual resumption" two hours later. Dubai International Airport is temporarily diverting flights expected this evening until the situation improves, a spokesperson for Dubai International Airport said earlier.
