Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly hatching plans to find some sort of sanctuary as the princess recovers. The annex is close to Lambrook School, which Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8), and Prince Louis (5) attend.

It is currently habitable and requires extensive renovation work if it is to be used. But the empty building cannot be used without further ado, especially since the conversion would involve costs. The couple's previous retreat, Anmer Hall on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, provided relaxation and peace during the Easter holidays. They are currently in the middle of a regeneration phase after an abdominal illness, but quickly turned out to be a kind of hunt for the royals.
