Israel does not want to leave the major Iranian attack unanswered. The response has not yet been decided.

Meanwhile, Iran is also threatened with consequences from other quarters. Israel's goal is therefore to harm Iran without triggering an all-out war. New punitive measures could therefore be imposed via a sanctions regime that was set up after Iran began supporting Russia's war of aggression through drone deliveries. The EU foreign policy chief Jose Borrell wants to continue trying to persuade Iran to comply with an agreement to restrict its nuclear program. The video conference on Tuesday, which was called because of the Iranian attack on Israel, will discuss how the European Union can contribute to de-escalation in the region. It is intended to prevent Iran from building a nuclear bomb. The conference will be held in the city of Qalandia, which is on the border of Israel and the Golan Heights. The U.S. State Department has said it will not comment publicly on a possible retaliation by Israel. The Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder said it was up to Israel to decide whether to respond.
