The United States has imposed new sanctions on Iran. The Pope, free prisoners of war, no more torture.

Israel's response will be a limited attack on Iran, according to a US source. The UN Council will vote on Thursday on full Palestinian admission to the UN. The U.N. Security Council is expected to vote on a resolution to end the Syrian conflict on Wednesday. The resolution was passed by a vote of the Security Council on Tuesday. It was the first time the council has voted on the issue in more than a decade. The last time it was voted on was in 2002. The previous vote was in 2006. Rocket warning sirens have started to sound again in northern Israel on the border with Lebanon. Israel's response to Tehran will include "a limited attack" on Iranian territory. The UN Security Council will vote on Thursday on Palestine's request for full membership of the United Nations. The measures will particularly affect "the missile and drone program, the entities that support the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Iranian Ministry of Defense." The U.S. will also "continue to work across the Department of Defense and Central Command to further strengthen and expand air and missile defense throughout the Middle East" and will not "hesitate to take action, in coordination with other countries" in the region. The Israeli president met this morning with the foreign ministers of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, and Great Britain, David Cameron, who arrived in the country.
