Catriona Seth is a British academic, professor of French literature at the University of Lorraine. She notably worked on the 2011 edition of Dangerous Liaisons in the Pléiade collection.

Le Figaro spoke with Seth, academic specialist in Dangerous Liaison. One of the great strengths of the novel is that it holds together through the style itself, she says. The term that most clearly characterizes Cécile's style is the word "good" which defines her character, says Seth. “To master language is also to master someone’s identity, it is to master the feelings of the other,” she says, adding that the question of the value of words is central in the work. The book is one of the works on the program for scientific preparatory classes in the French University of Paris, where it is being taught as part of a course on the Age of Enlightenment. The course is being offered in French, English, German and Spanish.
