Emergency manager for Doctors Without Borders, Claire Nicolet takes stock of the conference on Sudan, organized by France, Germany and the European Union, this Monday in Paris. Nicolet urges the entire international community to come to the aid of a country which is experiencing a “dramatic” situation.

"A year after the start of the war, it's a good wake-up call. But we need stronger intervention from humanitarian actors and greater funding, because they are still too weak," says Nicolet. "This aid must be directed towards Sudan, but also towards neighboring countries," adds Nicolet, who is also the manager of Médecins Sans Frontières in Sudan. "Doctors Without Borders is the only association to have staff in this country. We need to do more to help the people of Sudan," she adds. "We need to stop the war and stop the suffering," Nicolet says, adding that the international community must do more. "It's time to stop this war and start a new era of peace," she says.
