Albanese said. Guerot has been dubbed “the man at the pole” and branded a “hero” for intervening in Saturday’s stabbing at a busy Sydney shopping centre. Five women and a Pakistani security guard were killed in the attack, which was not blamed on terrorism and police are investigating whether the attacker specifically targeted women. The attacker, a 40-year-old mentally ill man, was shot dead by police officer Amy Scott, who, alone, tracked down the attacker and shot him dead. The attack left six people dead at a Sydney shopping center on Sunday, using a pole to stab them, including a woman and a man who were on a shopping mall escalator.
