The Olympic Flame lighting ceremony takes place this week. The torch will travel through Greece, before reaching France in May 2019.

The ceremony will be held in the sanctuary of Olympia (Greece), the cradle of the ancient Games. During the ceremony, the torch is lit in the ancient way, using the rays of the sun. The Flame will pass through the Peloponnese, the Pylos region and even Athens. On April 26, the handover ceremony is held at the Panathenaic Stadium.
