TikTok has been publishing its own bestseller list for around a year now. In March, non-fiction and romance dominated the BookTok charts.
At the Leipzig Book Fair, which took place in March, it was announced that the list, which includes the 20 most popular titles, would be expanded to include four more rankings. The most successful titles in March were a mix of non-fiction and the romance genre, which is very popular on TikTok. The list is published monthly by the video platform and the market research institute Media Control. In the future, there will be a Bestseller list for the non-fiction and young adult genres. Both Switzerland and Austria receive their own BookTok rankings.
