March 2024 is the tenth month in a row that has ranked as the warmest on record. The average temperature of the last 12 months, from April 2023 to March 2024, is the highest ever recorded.

In the last year, average global temperatures have exceeded the limit of 1.5°C from pre-industrial levels (the 1850-1900 average) set by the Paris Agreement of 2015 and the Glasgow COP26 of 2021. The month was 1.68°C warmer than the March average for the fifty years 1850 - 1900, the reference period of the pre- industrial era.
