Looking ahead to the
low season
, and after a drop in sales of around 20% after Easter,
tourism companies
agreed with the Government on offers
to encourage trips to national destinations. They include discounts of 30% on
long-distance
tickets ,
20% on hotels and packages
with bank financing, as well as
7x6
promotions (paying six, you get seven)
on ski resort passes.
In addition, they are preparing the launch of the
Argentina Emerge program.
The consensus was achieved after a meeting of the Minister of the Interior,
Guillermo Francos
; the Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports,
Daniel Scioli
, and the Undersecretary of Tourism,
Yanina Martínez
,
at Government House with the
chambers and associations of the sector
, in which they designed public-private policies for the next two and a half months, prior to the winter holidays.
Without the PreViaje
promotion program
- which, in its four editions, returned 50% of tourist expenses in credit for new trips and consumption in the country -, the intention is
to offer a similar stimulus
in the midst of the crisis so that Argentines continue traveling, at the same time that the industry is deseasonalized, although this time
there will be no money back, but discounts.
They seek
to replicate the results of the last winter low season
, in which, due to inflation and the jump in the dollar in the run-up to the election, many took the opportunity to travel as well as advance their purchases for the July and August holidays. Thus, agencies and hotels registered a
higher number of reservations
than usual at this time of 2023. Sales that used to take place in June were closed in April and May.
“The meeting was productive. There will be
discounts, bonuses, payment plans
and
combined offers
for contracting services in the months of lower demand," said the president of the CAT,
Gustavo Hani
, who participated in the meeting together with
Fernando Desbots
, from the Gastronomic Hotel Business Federation of the Argentine Republic (
Fehgra
);
Andrés Deya
, from the Argentine Federation of Travel and Tourism Business Associations (
Faevyt
);
Juan Pablo Padial
, from the Argentine Ski and Mountain Chamber (
CAEM
); and
Daniel Prieto
, from the Association of Hotels, Restaurants, Confectioneries and Cafes (
Ahrcc
), among others.
Gabriela Ferrucci
, president of the Association of Tourism Hotels (
AHT
), agreed with Hani and highlighted the
extension of the Simple Quota
, the
negotiations with the financial sector
and the development of
a benefits platform
at the national level, where each company will offer its own. and whose dissemination will be promoted by the Ministry of Tourism.
Discounts on buses, flights and hotels
In this regard, the Long Distance Bus Business Chamber (
Celadi
) announced that
long distance buses
will offer
30% off
with a credit card through
Simple Quota
on selected days, in principle, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. “The idea is to start in the middle of next week,” the entity anticipated.
The
airlines
have already activated quotas.
Until Sunday
,
Aerolíneas Argentinas
allows you to buy domestic flights in
up to six without interest
with Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Cabal with Simple Fee, and Naranja X. It is
for travel until August 31.
Low cost
companies even
launched promos for
trips abroad
.
JetSmart
launched promotional rates to travel for
$66,800 per leg
(final, with taxes included)
to Montevideo
from May 29
and for
$120,700 per leg
(also final, with taxes included)
to Santiago de Chile from April 22.
Flybondi
added
a frequency to San Pablo
this month and will operate seven days a week. And for the first time
it will fly to Florianópolis all year round
. The company, which also
connects Buenos Aires with Rio de Janeiro
with two daily flights, launched promotional prices
to fly until July inclusive
from
$199,999 to Florianópolis
,
$239,999 to São Paulo
and
$249,999 to Rio de Janeiro.
Despegar
also
got
a 15% discount
on flights, hotels and packages to Bariloche, Ushuaia, Mendoza and Iguazú paying with
Banco Macro and a 35% discount
on temporary rentals.
Stimulus for tourism
Francos defined the industry as “
a dynamizer of the economy
” and stressed that work is being done to increase “
the opening of the skies
” and “
deepen credit
.” “In addition, we are confident that we will be able to advance more and more in
incoming tourism
”, He pointed out about the arrival of foreign visitors to the country.
For his part, Scioli explained that "the call is a joint effort proposal" and indicated that the
Ministry of Tourism
will work with the
Argentine Chamber of Tourism (CAT)
to expand the "
support of public and private banks
." “Easter
was
no coincidence. The planning of that weekend, with promotions such as
Cuota Simple
, gave a successful result,” he considered.
In turn, Martínez announced the launch of the
Argentina Emerge initiative:
“There will be discounts and offers through
promotion and positioning campaigns
, which will be added to
programs to enhance
our attractions.”
