What can you report? The list is long. From the sandbox to the wooden or plastic garden houses, including football cages, children's bikes or balance bikes, all outdoor games are welcome to be recovered and valued. Only trampolines will not be taken back because “they are assimilated to the sports category and cannot be collected, recovered or recycled by the approved organization Ecomaison”, underlines Coralie Gueydon. Electronic products are also not among the accepted items.

Note that the operation is also valid in the ten King'Okaz stores which offer second-hand products and usually buy back your toys in good condition. In this case, in addition to the buyback offer, a voucher will also be issued to you.

According to Ademe, the Ecological Transition Agency, 100,000 tonnes of toys are thrown away each year in France. In 2020, the Agec law relating to the fight against waste and the circular economy obliged the toy sector to ensure two years later the financing and organization of the collection and treatment of waste from the products it puts on the market. “The sector is still behind on recyclability, sustainability and the circular economy,” admits Coralie Gueydon. Hence the big spring cleaning initiative.
Finally, one last advantage of returning these unused items to stores. Before being refurbished and possibly offered for second hand, they are checked in particular on all safety points. This is not possible, for example, on second-hand sales sites between individuals specializing in second-hand goods.
