Damien denounced Thursday. Lacombe, the president of Sodiaal, the largest French dairy cooperative which owns the Candia, Entremont and Yoplait brands. In a context where the anger of farmers remains strong, the president does not hide his annoyance at the brands. He accuses them of wanting to drive prices down as part of ongoing price negotiations concerning private label (MDD) products manufactured by Sodiaal. And the stakes are high for the number two in the dairy sector behind Lactalis: these private labels represent around a third of its activity, with half of the products sold in supermarkets by the cooperative being private labels.
