In Saint-Georges-de-Montaigu (Vendée)
Marie-Laurence Gouraud, Patricia Brochard and Bénédicte Mercier don't appreciate being in the spotlight.
These three sisters prefer, in the shadows,
“
to work in the field, in our factories, where we feel good
”
, they say in unison to Le
Figaro
.
However, they work at the head of a family agri-food empire, patiently built for almost 70 years along a country road, south of Saint-Georges-de-Montaigu (Vendée).
Together, they co-chair Sodebo, the French leader in mixed salads, sandwiches, fresh pizzas and Pasta Boxes in mass distribution.
A group with shareholders remaining 100% family-owned, which should approach 600 million euros in turnover in 2024 (575 million in 2023).
“

”
says Marie-Laurence Gouraud, 61, the eldest of the three managers.
