It is one of the last two French manufacturers of solar panels with the Alsatian Voltec.

Systovi, based in Carquefou (Loire-Atlantique), is looking for a buyer.

Management gave itself a month.

After this period, if no indication of interest is registered, the factory – and its 87 employees – will simply cease its activities.

“I don't want to make money, I want the project that we have been carrying out for fifteen years to be sustained and it is a buyer who will be best able to do this,” points out Paul Toulouse, general director of the business.

If management prefers to hand over, it is because of “extremely difficult market conditions linked to very low Chinese prices”.

Because it is now no longer a gap but a gulf which separates the price of panels manufactured in China and those produced in France.

Tricolor products are today four times more expensive than their competitors from Asia.

“Last summer, the Chinese halved all prices,” underlines Paul Toulouse.
