Capri Sun has a new look.

The CEO of the Swiss company Roland Weening announced at the end of last week that its traditional aluminum packaging would disappear and be replaced by a recyclable bag.

“After years of research and investments of several million euros in this development, we have finally been able to remove aluminum from the multi-layer, multi-material bag and replace it with a mono-material, polypropylene (PP),” rejoiced Roland Weening in a press release posted on his LinkedIn account.

According to the CEO, this new sachet will reduce carbon emissions by 67% compared to an equivalent PET bottle (Editor's note: polyethylene terephthalate).

“Reduce carbon emissions by 67%”

“Our new recyclable sachet is an important step in our quest to become the most sustainable, tastiest and most natural children's brand in the world,” he continues.

It reduces carbon emissions by 67% compared to an equivalent PET bottle.

“It’s the best possible beverage packaging format in terms of carbon footprint and it weighs less than a sheet of paper.”

Long criticized because of its non-recyclable aluminum sachet, Capri Sun took a first step towards more responsible packaging in 2021. The company then replaced its plastic straws with paper straws.

First implemented in the United Kingdom, these new bags will then be marketed in Europe.
