“I'm starting to freak out a little. » An American woman found herself stuck for more than forty minutes in her Tesla electric car, at 46°C, due to an update. It was the driver herself who recounted her ordeal, in a video published on her TikTok account.
Brianna, a Tesla owner, took advantage of a lunch break to start updating her car. An update supposed to last only around twenty minutes.
“I'm just stuck here roasting like a chicken”
But this update ultimately lasted around forty minutes. If the wait has turned into a nightmare, it is because during this update no functionality, even basic, of the vehicle is available. As a result, Brianna couldn't go out, or even turn on the air conditioning.
“I'm just stuck here roasting like a chicken, and dripping sweat,” she explains in her video. And for good reason, the temperature inside the vehicle exceeded 46°C, according to his account.

Although she still had the possibility of manually opening the door, the driver refused to do so, after having “read on Google that this could damage the vehicle”. The TikToker therefore had to wait more than forty minutes before going out. “I've never felt better, but I just need a good shower,” she laughed.
“Please don’t blame Tesla”
The video, which has exceeded 21 million views, did not fail to provoke a reaction. “I'm going to add this to the list of 30,000 other reasons not to buy a Tesla,” one user wrote; “Teslas are so dangerous,” reacted another; “Every video I've seen of a Tesla shows me that I shouldn't buy a Tesla,” added another.
Reactions such as the young woman had to explain in another video. “I've owned a Tesla for almost six years, I know how to use it, but this was the first time I've updated while inside the car,” she began.

“I knew I wasn’t in danger at that point. If I had been in danger, I would have opened the door manually,” she said. “Please don't blame Tesla, it's a good vehicle. Don’t update while you’re inside,” she simply concluded.
