Eyal Golan, August 16, 2023/Nathanal Moyal PR
The singer Eyal Golan received today from the Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, MK Nissim Vettori, a certificate of appreciation for his work and contribution in the "Iron Swords" war. MK Vettori surprised Golan during a broadcast on Radio Jerusalem when he was a guest on Yaron Ilan's show to talk about his new album "Am Yisrael Chai" and presented him with the certificate. MK Vettori also clarified on the broadcast that the award is "in the name of the Knesset of Israel" even though the Knesset is not Signed it but only himself.
The Knesset said in response to Walla! Culture because the certificate is not on behalf of the Knesset.
The award even provoked great anger among many musicians who volunteered and performed and did not receive any certificate of appreciation. The musician Amir Ben David, a member of the "Prototype" band, was outraged by the decision to award the certificate of appreciation only to Eyal Golan. "All the musicians I know - including me and my friend the humble but cute Labtipe - have performed endless volunteer concerts since the seventh of October. But only one was found worthy of recognition."
His bandmate, vocalist Eyal Schechter, added and turned to MK Vettori: "Perhaps you could explain to Amir and the thousands of artists who volunteered why they were not invited to receive a certificate of appreciation like Eyal Golan?".
The chairman of the Labor Party, MK Merav Michaeli, wrote: "Today in the Hall of Fame of Nissim Vatori - Eyal Golan. As Kirshenbaum said - every time it seems that we have reached the bottom of the barrel, a knock is heard from below. T, we believe you. Also from the Israeli Knesset."
Golan wrote on his Instagram account: "It is important for me to write to write to you personally and directly from me - everything I did during the war and will continue to do is my personal commitment and that of all my fellow artists, who volunteer and work non-stop to make the whole country happy and strong during the difficult times we are going through. I thank you MK Vatori for the good intention, but as far as I'm concerned, the only recognition that exists in all these months is only for our heroes, our soldiers, regulars and reservists, those who are fighting even in these moments and those who lost their lives for us, thanks to them
MK Vatori said in response : "I am awarding the certificate as an appreciation for volunteering for the IDF soldiers as the Deputy Speaker of the Knesset. I am in an official position in the Knesset and represent it. When I conducted the ceremony in the Knesset, I received instructions and corrections that the ceremony is official according to the language of the Ceremonies Division. I was even instructed to add the word 'Knesset' below To symbolize that this is an official event. I signed the certificate and it is written on the head of the Knesset MK Nissim Vatori. They even asked me to reprint the certificates, since it was an official event and because of a mistake that did not meet the requirements of the Knesset's regulations. It's a shame that there are those who found it appropriate to attack and look for nonsense and thus harm the contributions and well-being of IDF soldiers." MK Vettori, why exactly
is
Eyal Golan receiving a certificate of appreciation and not hundreds of other artists who have performed continuously since October 7?
I awarded to those who participated in the activities of my HML. In the next step we will give to those who contributed a lot, sang, cooked and managed very strong HMLs, which were not specifically related to my HML."
