With five new sizes, Continental's Sport Touring tire, the ContiRoad, also becomes available for motorcycles with a displacement of up to 300 cc and, progressively, two 17-inch front tires in sizes 100/2024 will arrive on the market in the second quarter of 2024. 80 and 110/70, and three rear ones, also 17 inches, in sizes 130/70, 140/70 and 150/60.
It is a diagonal type tyre, with a tread design that recalls that of radial tyres, capable of balancing performance both in sports and everyday use, thanks to an optimized silica compound, which offers particularly good grip in the wet.
Furthermore, the carcass and profile have been designed to achieve engaging dynamic behavior and high stability.
Finally, with more material in the areas of greatest wear of the profile, it guarantees superior durability and reduces its cost per kilometre.
In this way, Continental meets the needs of motorcyclists who travel on motorbikes with a displacement between 125 and 300 cc, which are increasingly popular due to their cost, efficiency and adaptability, and which are gaining a growing number of customers. in the main markets of Asia, North and South America and Europe;
as demonstrated by the displacement class between 250 and 499 cc which, in Germany, has tripled its market share in the last ten years, going from 4.7% to 14%.
