“Let's Dance” becomes a breakdown show: presenter despairs – “This has never happened before”

In the current season, RTL had to struggle with technical problems with “Let's Dance” - in episode seven things get really bad: several glitches occur in a very short space of time.

Cologne - "Let's Dance" has already been sorted out properly - because the celebrities have now reached episode seven and had to say goodbye to some dancers. Many stars have already proven that they can keep up with the professionals and even the 30-point maximum rating has already been cracked. But on Friday evening (April 19, 2024) a chain of mishaps really messes up the show.

First a fall, then the light goes out: “Let's Dance” show is plagued by bad luck

There is a moment of shock at the Contemporary by Ann-Kathrin Bendixen (24) and Valentin Lusin (37). Because in the middle of the “Let's Dance” freestyle, the professional dancer falls and drags his partner to the ground with him. The two get up again and do their best - but the mistake is by no means the only one that evening. A short time later, “Bergdoktor” star Mark Keller (58) has to wait before his dance: the light in the studio has gone out.

After the clip, which shows him and his dance partner Kathrin Menzinger (35) training, the performance does not begin - presenter Daniel Hartwich (45) has an announcement to the audience: “Ladies and gentlemen, the lights are broken here. That has never happened before either. “We have to repair that now. As you can see, we’re all in the dark,” he says. Juror Joachim Llambi (59) can hardly believe it. “Is someone else screwing in a light bulb or something?” he jokes. And indeed: after a few minutes, which Daniel Hartwich bridges with small talk with the jury, the lights in the RTL studio work again.

Next mistake: “Let's Dance” speaker gets confused

And as if those weren't enough mishaps for one evening, the next faux pas occurs a few seconds later. Because when speaker Patrick Linke (54) wants to announce Mark Keller's performance, he gets confused about the name of professional dancer Kathrin Menzinger. The Duisburg native has to interrupt and start again.

There was a technical glitch in the first episode - because the telephone numbers of the individual dance couples were only shown very briefly in the advertising. A few weeks later, the speaker made a mistake when introducing the “Let's Dance” candidates – right at the beginning of the show.
