The Argentine Agroindustrial Council (CAA), made up of 61 chambers and associations, held its in-person plenary meeting this Thursday within the scope of the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange with the participation of chambers and member entities of the country's productive chains.
At this meeting, the CAA made progress in the process of institutionalization and establishing itself as a non-profit business entity to promote, prepare and disseminate proposals that make federal, inclusive, sustainable and export development through improvements in competitiveness, sustainability and innovation of the agroindustrial value chain.

In this session, the proposals of the CAA's Federal Agroindustrial Plan presented last year were presented, which proposes in
10 years to reach exports of US$ 100,000 million and generate 870,000 new jobs.
The work includes a schedule for
the elimination of export duties for agroindustrial products
. Firstly, leave regional economies and processed foods without withholdings. Then, for meat and dairy (9%) it would be in three years, at a rate of 3 points per year. Regarding corn and wheat, which are taxed at 12%, in 6 years falling 2 points per year. And finally, over 10 years, reducing 3 points per year, the soybean complex, which today is the crop most punished by this tax.
They also showed a survey of national standards for deregulation and simplification that imply an
improvement in competitiveness of
around
400 million dollars
if they are modified or eliminated.
In the afternoon, the Deputies of the Nation were present: Dr. Miguel Pichetto President of the Block We Make the Federal Coalition and Lic. Atilio Benedetti President of the Agriculture and Livestock Commission. In this session the CAA presented its legislative proposals: the Agroindustrial Investment Promotion Project that lost parliamentary status, the draft Law on Agricultural Insurance and Climate Change, the draft Law on Good Practices and use of inputs and proposals to modify the Biofuels Law.
The last session was dedicated to Argentine foreign policy and was attended by Ambassador Gabriel Martínez Undersecretary of International Economic Negotiations and Integration and Minister Ramiro Velloso Undersecretary of Promotion of Exports, Investments, Education, Science and Culture . Opinions were exchanged in relation to the market opening strategy, the early closure of the MERCOSUR-EU negotiations, and the open
with Canada, EFTA, CANADA, ARAB EMIRATES, KOREA, INDONESIA, INDIA, as well as a program of active participation in international fairs, emphasis was also placed on strengthening the international health negotiations of SENASA and those related to environmental and health issues that are constituting new barriers to trade.
The CAA ratified its vocation to promote dialogue with the National Government and Congress to develop proposals that have direct benefits to all links in the agroindustrial and bioenergy value chains.
