The Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports, Daniel Scioli, had another television appearance this Thursday and spoke again about the possibility of
Sports Joint Stock Companies
landing in Argentine football in the near future.
Although the former ambassador to Brazil gave other types of statements a few years ago when he was asked about this issue, when they showed him an old tweet of his from 2018 against public limited companies, he clarified that many things happened in the middle, that it
evolved into his thinking and that is why his opinion changed on the matter.
Scioli
left several phrases in relation to SAD during his visit to the TN screen. Among many, he expressed that the members of each of the clubs should have the freedom to choose if they want this type of model for the institution or not. At this point he stressed that it must be their will and not an external imposition.
He also highlighted the case of Uruguay again, which has laws that support this type of corporate schemes. He also mentioned the cases of Brazil, Peru, Paraguay, Colombia, Ecuador and Chile; and maintained that in Argentina the possibility should be left open because they represent a true change for football. Likewise, he expressed his support for President Javier Milei's project.
His recent crossing with Pablo Toviggino
The former governor of the Province of Buenos Aires already had a run-in with the treasurer of the AFA
on this topic on social networks. The leader of the entity chaired by Claudio Tapia came out to cross it due to a tweet that Scioli published in November 2018.
In it he published that a bill presented by his block was being debated in a session of the Sports Commission. This project prohibited clubs from transforming into public limited companies. Toviggino questioned his current position and was quick to remind him of these statements.
SAD or not SAD
Javier Milei, through a DNU, promoted the possibility for clubs to adopt the model of sports corporations (SAD). From then on, the debate became more relevant among the leaders: Juan Sebastián Verón, president of Estudiantes de La Plata, and Andrés Fassi, head of Talleres de Córdoba, were some of those who were in favor.
La Bruja was in favor of Pincha having a mixed system
.
With a long-term vision, the idol Pincharrata thinks of a club that continues to belong to its members and that allows the entry of private capital, without this making it stop being a non-profit association and turning it into a SAD . For his part, the leader of the Córdoba club stated that he welcomes his arrival in local football and that he supports a popular consultation so that the members can make the decision.
