The Belgian presidency is evaluating the activation of the Ipcr - the integrated device for the political response to crises in the European Union - to protect the electoral process from Russian disinformation ahead of the June vote. Qualified sources make this known.
The idea was discussed at the last European Council and received the approval of the leaders. The Presidency is now carrying out further technical analyses. The Ipcr favors "a rapid and coordinated decision-making process at the EU political level" in the event of serious and complex crises and has been activated, for example, for Covid or the war in Ukraine.
