“The little red dress caught my eye. It only costs 5 euros! And the little shoes too. And then…” In a few minutes, Ally carries out a veritable raid in the Glade. This weekend, Secours populaire is hosting a solidarity wardrobe clearance in the heart of the Quatre-Temps shopping center, in La Défense. An operation organized as part of the Westfield Good Festival, “an event dedicated to promoting a sustainable lifestyle”.

For two days and until this Sunday, 7 p.m., the curious and bargain seekers flocked to the part reserved for the departmental delegation of Secours populaire. On racks, clothes of all sizes, elegant dresses and several pretty pairs of shoes, such as pumps, carefully displayed on shelves. Prices range from 3 to 30 euros, no more.

La Défense, April 14. A clothing drive will follow the closet clearance the coming week.

“I worked for 25 years at La Défense and this is the first time I have seen such an operation,” adds Ally, who missed previous operations. I really fell in love! »

A little further on, Gilda examines several rooms. “I have always hated throwing away, so I donate or recycle. You can also find pearls in this type of closet clearance. At least we know the money is going to a noble cause. I have volunteered for several associations, so I am sensitive to the process. And it’s true, looking for a good deal is also a fun game. »

“It’s a win-win, so you might as well take advantage of it”

The clothing offered at Quatre-Temps these two days are donations from individuals throughout the department. No less than 550 pieces were put up for sale, then stored in an empty commercial space in the shopping center. On Saturday alone, the association recovered 3,000 euros.

A pair of black high-heeled sandals in hand, Malika exults. “It’s unexpected,” she says. I never spend much on this type of shoe but hey, it's the season. I sometimes go to Vinted but today I'm doing a good deed. » Two steps away, Diop acquiesces. “I was passing by by chance but it’s really a win-win, so you might as well take advantage of it,” comments the young father.

After this closet clearance, the Secours populaire will have a stand all week, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., on the floor above the Clairière, just between Desigual and Uniqlo. Objective: to collect clothes that shopping center users will want to get rid of.

The association only accepts clean parts in good condition, shoes and accessories as well as childcare equipment. No need to bring shabby clothes or underwear.
