Ticket sales for the Kaltenberg Knights' Tournament starting in mid-July have begun. And now the creators reveal what this year's story of the show is about.

Kaltenberg -

More than eight hours of supporting program on five live stages and in the castle grounds per event day, performances by jugglers, musicians and walking acts, colorful hustle and bustle at the market stalls, in the taverns and taverns: This is the Kaltenberg knights' tournament that attracts around 100,000 people every year attracts visitors.

This year the gates to the castle grounds will open for the first time on July 12th. Then it traditionally starts with the jugglers' night. It only takes place on this one evening - the tournament show is offered on the other eight days of the event (see box on the right for dates).

Three and a half months before the start of the big spectacle, the organizers of Ritterturnier Kaltenberg Veranstaltungs-GmbH are giving the first insight into the history of the tournament show, which is designed nine times a year.

This year the story, which comes to life with lots of music, fire and other effects in the partially covered arena, revolves around Ulrich. He fights with Wolfbarth for a diamond sword. According to the announcement, this time there will also be knights from Asia, the characters are called “Attila, the Mongol” and “Kato, the Tsunami”, a fearless samurai. And then there is a shaman whose magical powers will hopefully prove useful to Ulrich.

The audience will be excited for two hours as the battle between good and evil takes place in the arena. Knights on their horses perform stunts, dressage and choreographies. Hundreds of artists and performers are involved in the live show and supporting program.

But the show is only part of the attraction. All day long, people dressed in medieval costumes mill about in medieval camps. Knights march across the terrain and ring their swords. When the penitents parade, a mystical atmosphere spreads across the area. You can watch and sometimes even take part at craft stands.
