“It’s the hammer blow, a real horror scene”: one month after the departure of her last tenant who stayed for five and a half years, Anne-Sophie Marguerie can’t believe it. In addition to unpaid rent, around 5,000 euros, he left his house, located in Airaines (Somme), in a lamentable state. From the entrance gate, two black leather armchairs abandoned on the lawn set the tone. Once around the gable, the eye is caught by a dishwasher, rubble, a recumbent bike, electric hobs, an oven placed on a white plastic garden table and other rubbish upside down. It feels like a dump.
A building, where the piles rise more than a meter high, houses the oil boiler: “Look, the electronic facade is missing,” alarms the 51-year-old owner with a disability, who has difficulty getting around. “The equipment was new when the tenant arrived. »
“I hope to obtain wage garnishments”
The show continues in the filthy kitchen from floor to ceiling including furniture. Humidity is important: “He said he couldn't afford to buy fuel oil,” says the owner. In his departure letter, he blames me for having lived in this unsanitary house for too long and for having done nothing. How to do work with a tenant like him? »
In the living room, the floor is almost unrecognizable under cigarette butts, boxes, toys, the mattress torn on the side and other bottles of alcohol. A window pane is broken… A real dump. In the other rooms of the house, upstairs which has two bedrooms, always disaster. A mattress for two people rotten in the middle…
Anne Sophie Marguerie approached companies to remove all this waste: “At least, it will cost me 5,000 euros,” explains the unemployed owner whose mortgage is still running. Afterwards, the bailiff will make an inventory. I might have surprises. I'm hoping to get some wage garnishments, as for the house, I'm going to sell it. It’s too much trouble…”
