And suddenly everything turned upside down.
There is nothing like the conscription law crisis to describe the bad process that Netanyahu went through in the last twenty years: the Netanyahu of that time, between a phenomenal tenure in the Ministry of Finance under Ariel Sharon, to the position of opposition leader who succeeded in politically eliminating Ehud Olmert - and from there to the longest consecutive tenure of A prime minister in Israel would thrive in such situations: promise one thing, threaten another, find some convoluted wording that lets each side believe that he left with loot in his hand.
Today's Netanyahu is the negative of that man, who could be admired or loathed, but his political wisdom, which he perfected to the level of an art, could not be denied.

Then he was wrong to think that the crisis with Biden would bring the Republicans to stand by his side, but alas: they chose to give support even to their direct opponent in the battle for the White House - go out and learn how far the prestige of those who once knew how to conquer Capitol Hill has fallen!
Netanyahu who was pressed - and regretfully pulled the card that was always the "ace" up his sleeve: a confrontation with Washington - learned that the problem is that not only did the Americans manage to overcome the enormous pain by not being closely exposed to Dermer's performance of the Negev, but also that this time this move had the opposite effect on Israeli citizens.
