A fraud attempt was made on the Internet using the good name of pop singer Stefanie Hertel.

Chiemgau - Stefanie Hertel's (44) identity was used by unknown people for attempted fraud on the Internet. The popular pop singer's face was intended to trick fans on the social network Facebook. However, the Schlager.de portal noticed this. The site then determined the background to the attempted fraud and informed Hertel's management.

Stefanie Hertel is a victim of fraud: identity stolen for a dubious competition

Stefanie Hertel was unsuspectingly enjoying a trip to Paris with her husband Lanny Lanner (49) while chaos broke out on her social media presence. Identity thieves commented on one of her most recent posts on Facebook, with which she kept her followers updated about her everyday work and travels, and led users to a fake account that looked extremely similar to the singer's real one.

The fake Hertel account responded to comments from fans on Hertel's page, writing messages such as: "Congratulations, you're one of the winners of my special event! See my last post.” There was a link behind it that led fans to a profile that was supposedly that of the singer, but in contrast to Hertel’s Facebook presence, had no followers at all.
