Even before her illness, King Charles and his daughter-in-law Princess Kate were one heart and soul. Now they are “closer than ever.”
Windsor – Princess Kate (42) was diagnosed with cancer after abdominal surgery. The wife of the heir to the British throne, Prince William (41), is undergoing preventive chemotherapy, as she said in a video message published on Friday (March 22). The shock was huge, she explains, and it has received an incredible amount of support ever since. Especially from King Charles (75), who is suffering from cancer himself.
King Charles encourages Princess Catherine wherever he can
One can imagine that suffering shared is suffering halved. Sources close to the royals confirm that Charles and the mother of his grandchildren are “closer than ever” after both were diagnosed with cancer. According to
The Sun,
Kate had a private lunch with Charles on Wednesday (March 20) before revealing the video message.

Since then, not a day goes by without Charles asking Prince William (41) about Kate. He is said to be in “regular daily contact” with Kate and Prince William. “To be honest, he and William speak very regularly, but now the king calls every day to check that Catherine is OK,” a family friend told
Vanity Fair.
King Charles was “100 percent” behind Princess Kate’s video message to the nation
“She has always had a close relationship with Charles, but this has brought them so much closer,” said a family friend. “Charles loves Kate and has great respect for her and the courage she has shown through all of this. He was fully behind her as she took in the message. He was encouraged by the many messages of support he received and knew Kate would receive the same support from the public.”

The royal family usually makes written statements, but the princess wanted to deliver the news herself in a more personal way. It is believed that she wrote every word of the speech herself and delivered it in a single take.
It was also heard from those close to Prince William that the early loss of Princess Diana (36, † 1997) - William was just 15 years old - had put William into a fatherly protective mode, as his children were now confronted with the fact that their health was failing her own mother will be discussed in public.
It is quite possible that King Charles's past also plays a certain role in his sympathy since the family moved back to Anmer Hall, their country estate in Norfolk, over Easter. The monarch is on standby and has confirmed attending the Easter Sunday service in Windsor.
