Angela Wepper was buried in a small town in Hesse on Saturday - several celebrities attended.
There had previously been fears of a scandal at the grave.
It is probably the hardest walk of his life so far.
Supported from two sides, Fritz Wepper walks sadly down into the parish church of Christ the King.
The actor is deeply affected by the death of his wife.

The funeral service for Fritz Wepper's wife Angela took place this Saturday (January 27, 2019) in Schlitz in East Hesse.
She comes from a noble family whose roots lie in the town of Schlitz and, in accordance with her wishes, she was now buried in the family grave there.

There was a lot of fuss about the funeral in advance, as Susanne Kellermann, Fritz Wepper's ex-lover, also wanted to attend the funeral service.
This announcement brought Angela Wepper's first husband, Ferfried Prince of Hohenzollern, to the scene.
“If she appears there, she can be prepared for something,” the 75-year-old explained in the Bild newspaper, making it clear that Wepper’s ex-lover was not wanted at the funeral.
There was a risk of a scandal at the coffin.
But that didn't happen this Saturday.
Neither Ferfried Prince of Hohenzollern nor Susanne Kellermann could be discovered among the mourners.
In Kellermann's case, an appearance could still have been possible - shortly before the end of the service, as if a dramaturg had planned it, a woman with black sunglasses and a hat pulled low over her face rushed into the church.

In any case, the city of 10,000 residents experienced a harmonious meeting of the high nobility and Munich celebrities, which was certainly in the spirit of the deceased.
In addition to Fritz Wepper and his daughter, brother Elmar and his family also came to the funeral service, although only shortly before it began and visibly in a hurry, as photos from HNA.de* show.
Also not to be missed was family friend and actor Bernd Herzsprung, who was seen with his daughters, including the actress Hannah, and ex-wife Barbara Engel.
The cast was completed by Heino Ferch, who came with his wife.
The Bavarian noble house of Wittelsbach was represented by Leopold Prince of Bavaria and his wife Ursula.

More than two dozen onlookers had gathered in front of the church.
This underlined how connected the deceased was to the city.
Early in the morning at the bakery on Main Street there was only one topic - and when asked, Schlitzer pointed out that the late Angela Wepper regularly visited the city.
“Every two years she came to our traditional costume festival with Fritz Wepper,” said a local proudly.

The funeral service lasted a good hour and was characterized by many singing performances and, above all, the intercessions read by four grandchildren of the deceased.
The last song before the mourners left was the famous “My way” by Frank Sinatra.
Funeral home employee reveals: Fritz Wepper took care of it personally
Barbara Engel, who once celebrated her double wedding with the deceased in August 1979, left the church with a smile, as if to say it was a dignified farewell service.
Her daughter Hannah, who looked visibly shaken, had no smile, but a lot of tears on her face.
It was Fritz Wepper himself who helped organize the funeral in advance.
“He personally selected the coffin with black lacquer,” explained an employee of the responsible funeral home.
It is quite possible that he also used a word of power to urge a harmonious farewell to his wife and that is why not everyone who originally wanted to take part in the memorial service and burial showed up.
