Bison smart: busy traffic in Île-de-France this weekend for the end of the school holidays

2024-04-19T18:20:50.826Z

Highlights: This Friday, April 19 marks the start of the school holidays for students in zone B (academies of Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rouen, and Strasbourg). Those in zone C are experiencing their last days of vacation before the big summer break. In the direction of departures, the National Road Information Center advises avoiding the A7 motorway between Lyon and Orange from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and to avoid it between 3 p.M. and 6 p.m. in the direction of returns. Traffic is also expected to be difficult in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region for Saturday. The situation will be more complicated this Friday in the south and south-east of the country, more precisely from the Hautes-Alpes to the Pyrénées-Orientales, Bison futé has classified this area in orange.

Traffic is also expected to be difficult in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region for Saturday.

The holidays are coming to an end for Ile-de-France residents. While this Friday, April 19 marks the start of the school holidays for students in zone B (academies of Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen and Strasbourg), those in zone C (academies of Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse and Versailles) are experiencing their last days of vacation before the big summer break.

Nothing to clog up the roads in the direction of departures this Friday, where traffic will remain usual throughout the territory. On the other hand, in terms of returns, the situation will be more complicated this Friday in the south and south-east of the country, more precisely from the Hautes-Alpes to the Pyrénées-Orientales, Bison futé having classified this entire area in orange, synonymous with difficult traffic.

In the direction of returns, the organization advises avoiding the A7 motorway between Marseille and Orange from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the A8 motorway between Italy and Le Luc from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., the A54 motorway between Arles and Nîmes from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the A57 motorway between Le Luc and Toulon from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Difficult traffic in Île-de-France on Saturday and Sunday

If traffic will remain normal over most of the territory on Saturday, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is classified in orange by Bison futé in the direction of departures, but also in the direction of returns. In the direction of departures, the National Road Information Center advises avoiding the A7 motorway between Lyon and Orange from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and to avoid it between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the direction of returns.

Unsurprisingly, in these last days of vacation for the Paris region, the direction of returns is classified in orange around the capital for the days of Saturday and Sunday. For these two days, Bison futé recommends reaching or crossing Île-de-France before 2 p.m. The Paris region is also the only area in France where traffic will be difficult on Sunday, the entire rest of the country being classified as green by Bison futé.
